Senior Pastor

How did you find yourself at Arbor?

A friend sent my name to the Search Committee thirty one years ago. After much prayer I accepted the call to Arbor and began my ministry on May 1, 1990. I have considered it a privilege to have served God in the same church for over thirty years.

FAVORITE SCRIPTURES: One of my favorite verses is in Psalm 33.4-5, “But I trust in you Lord; I say, You are my God. My times are in your hands.” Nothing happens in my life without God’s permission.

FAVORITE MOVIE: My favorite TV show is NCIS. I am in the process of collecting the DVD’s for all the seasons it has been on.

FAVORITE BOOKS: My favorite authors are Chuck Swindoll, Max Lucado, John MacArthur, D.A. Carson, and Mark Batterson. Each one of these writers spoke to me at a particular time in my life when I needed encouragement. They are all solid Biblical authors.

What do you like to do in your free time?

How did you find yourself at Arbor?

I was led to Arbor early in 2020 and finally had the opportunity to begin serving in November of the same year. I married my husband, Ian, not too long after in July 2021. We are proud and grateful for every moment we get to serve here at Arbor and we look forward to what God has in store in the coming years.

FAVORITE SCRIPTURE:

My favorite scripture is Ephesians 2:8. “For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not of your own doing; it is the gift of God.”

Another favorite of mine is Ephesians 13:1-3: "If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing."

FAVORITE MOVIE:

I grew up watching The Lord of the Rings trilogy, so I have come to absolutely love watching them at least once a year as a tradition. They are easily my favorite movies.

FAVORITE BOOKS:

I enjoy reading books about worship. Many people have a voice on the matter so I try to be open to new ideas and new perspectives, always keeping everything within the scope of Biblical truths. I also enjoy reading fiction and will read almost any genre.

FREE TIME ACTIVITIES:

I spend most of my free time with my husband, two cats and my dog or reading a good book. When I have the time I also love to spend time with friends or having jam sessions with other musical folks.

Amber Passmore  Children's Director

How did you find yourself at Arbor?

My husband Jamie grew up attending Arbor with his family and in 2007 we became members. I have always had a passion for working with children and found my self volunteering to help with any children's activities here at Arbor. In 2012 I was teaching at the Methodist Church Preschool. During the year I kept feeling lead to stop teaching and devote all my time to the children at Arbor. So I did! Little did I know I would become the Children's Director in the summer of 2013! God always has a plan, we just have to listen!

FAVORITE SCRIPTURES:

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.  1 Timothy 4:12

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

FAVORITE MOVIE:

A few of my favorites are The Notebook, Steel Magnolias and Little Women.

FAVORITE BOOKS:

I enjoy reading the Bible for sure! I love the children’s book The Giving Tree, and my favorite author is Patsy Clairmont.

FREE TIME ACTIVITIES:

I love to spend time with my husband Jamie and our girls Gracie, Skylar and Lilyann. You can usually find me cheering them on at a softball tournament or dance competition or just hanging out with family. I also love to go fishing, especially pier fishing at the beach!
